Yoga Healing Arts Camp

Yoga Camp

Once a year during the National Rainbow Gathering, students and teachers of yoga gather to share knowledge with over 1,000 people a day in a free, outdoor, family setting.

Within the festival-type gathering of 20,000-40,000 people each year leading up to the 4 th of July, yogis come to create a space for the maximum interchange of yoga practices and other healing techniques. The beautiful infrastructure of the Rainbow Gathering has created fertile ground for Yoga Healing Arts Camp to offer up to 2 weeks of full power classes for free, with the height of 50 classes a day being reached on July 1 st -4 th . The Rainbow Gathering is described in the link “About the Rainbow Gathering”.

Yoga Healing Arts Camp is a unique entity each year in that the spaces and the classes provided are all dependent upon the resources and the teachers who arrive at the Gathering that year to share. The camp provides a safe family atmosphere that is smoke-free during the day to allow breathing space for classes, meditation and children. Classical Indian musicians are welcomed to share sacred Bhajan music each year. Yoga campers are encouraged to bring ancient Vedic texts to study the roots of yoga together.

Course offerings in the past have included Vinyasa Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Beginners Yoga, Anusara Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Universal Freestyle Yoga, Flow Yoga, Kids Yoga, Zazen Meditation, Reiki, Butoh Dance, Contact Improv Dance, Tai Chi, Tantric Iron Shirt Tai Chi, Aikido, Capoeira, Kabbalah, Bellydancing, Nonviolent Communication, Tabla drumming, Raga singing, Permaculture, Creating Emotional Intimacy, Women's circles, Tantra, and ‘Yogic Secrets Revealed'.
