Ayurveda's Parampara
The Lineage of teaching through the Devas to Mankind

Bhagavan Brahma, the Creator God

Manu, the first Man (akin to Adam)

The Ashwini Kumar, The Divine Physicians (the Doctors of the gods)

Manu to the Ashwini Kumar (the Ashwin twins)

Indra, the king of the Gods
Indra slept with Ahalya, the wife of a Gautama Rishi, he was then cursed by the Rishi to have one thousand vaginas all over his body from all his exploits. He later propitiated the Rishi who turned the vaginas into eyes.

Vimalananda gives the inner meaning of this. "Those one thousand vaginas represent the thousands of 'holes' you can fall into. The thousands and millions of wombs which can trap you into being reborn when you crave the enjoyment they offer. They became eyes because you are usually led into temptation by your eyes." quoted from Kundalini, Aghora II, by Robert Svaboda

Rishi Atri, born in the lineage of the Moon. He is the traditional Rig Veda Sage of Ayurveda
